Peasants' War

1524 May 30 Peasants in the Black Forest region of Germany begin Peasants' War.

The Geman Peasants' War lasted from 1524 to 1526. It began when peasants around Saint Blasien abbey in the Black Forest region of Germany refused to pay their feudal dues. It quickly spread throughout Germany. Luther wrote three works concerning the Peasants' War and Balthasar Hübmaier supported peasants in his town of Waldshut. Thomas Müntzer supported the rebellion.
