Thomas Cranmer

Died 1556
Significance Thomas Cranmer was archbishop of Canterbury from 1533 to 1556 under Henry VIII and Edward VI. Under the reign of Edward VI he enacted reforms that moved the Church of England toward Protestant beliefs. He was burned at the stake under Queen Mary.
